NOTICE FROM CRETAN ADVENTURES: A large part of the famous Palm forest of Preveli in Crete was burned on Sunday, August 22nd, 2010 during wildfires that broke out in the southern part of Rethymno Prefecture.
According to reports from the Fire Brigade and Local Authorities, the historical palm forest of Preveli was burned to ashes, along with a thousand hectares of cultivations, animals and olive trees.
The Team of Cretan Adventures feels the need to contribute by any mean to the revival of the forest and the surrounding area for the next years and decided to cancel all the activities in the gorge and the actual river.
