Our Crete Mountain Biking tours offer cycling with our mountain bikes on dirt roads, old trails and isolated asphalt roads in Crete, to visit traditional villages and mountainous and coastal areas.

Crete Biking itineraries:
East Crete Biking - 8 days mountain biking in Crete
 DAY 1: Meet at Heraklion airport and transfer to our hotel in Gouves area by the sea. In the evening we shall have a brief presentation of the whole trip and shall continue with dinner at hotel’s restaurant (Overnight in Gouves)
DAY 2: (Total 38 Km, 20 km off road). After breakfast we shall cycle towards the inland of east Crete, passing through pastures and olive groves, traditional and agricultural villages. Crossing the Kasteli valley, we shall reach the enchanting villages of Amariano and Kastamonitsa and shall continue to reach the quite village of Avdou where we stay. (Overnight in Avdou)
DAY 3: (Total 30 Km, 10 km off road). From Avdou we shall climb up to the plateau of Lassithi. This approximately one hour ascend, offers us spectacular view to Lagada valley and the north coast. Lassithi plateau is the birthplace of Zeus and the valley of 10000 windmills. Although not in use anymore we will have the chance to see some of these windmills close to the 20 villages that are dotted around the periphery of the plateau. (Overnight in Lassithi)
DAY 4: (Total 40 Km, 10 km off road) Leaving behind Lassithi plateau, we shall ascend to the plateau of Katharo, one of the three smaller plateaus that surround Lassithi. We will cross Katharo and continue downhill through pine forest to reach the village of Kritsa where we shall visit the triple-aisled church of Panagia Kera with the most outstanding Byzantine frescoes of Crete. From Kritsa our trip continues to the town of Agios Nikolaos. (Overnight in Agios Nikolaos)
 DAY 5: (Total 39 Km, 10 km off road). From Agios Nikolaos we shall head south west towards the villages of Limnes and Neapoli. We cross Neapoli and continue uphill to the same direction passing through old isolated villages, deserted flourmills, monasteries and chapels we reach the cave of Milatos. After visiting the cave we shall continue until we reach the coastal village of Sissi. (Overnight in Sissi)
DAY 6: (Total 30 Km). A relaxing route on the south coast passing from Malia, Stalida and Hersonissos to end up at the village of Gouves. On the way, you shall have many chances to stop for a refreshing swim in the crystal waters of the Aegean Sea. (Overnight in Gouves)
DAY 7: (Option 1: 15Km. Option 2: 30Km) For our last cycling day we shall have two options to reach Heraklion. We will either follow an easier route through the coastal road which will give us many chances to stop and enjoy our swim or we will cycle through the inland and after passing from several villages we shall have the chance to visit the ancient palace of Knossos before arriving in Heraklion. (Overnight in Heraklion)
DAY 8: This is the end of our biking trip in Crete. We transfer you to Heraklion airport at a convenient time.
East Crete Biking Trip - Details
Price/Person: €1170 (Single Supplement: €120)
(In case that you bring your own bike there is a discount of €100)
Price Includes: Services of the tour leader – guide, Support vehicle with repair kits and pumps, all accommodation (7 nights in double rooms) in BB basis, group transfers to and from Heraklion airport, Mountain bikes, Helmets, baggage transport, personal accident insurance, VAT.
Not Included: Transport to and from Crete, all meals, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, personal expenses, entrance fees in Museums and other sites of interest (i.e. monasteries, caves, etc).
Insurance: Everyone participating in any of Cretan Adventures events/activities is covered by personal insurance through CHARTIS GREECE. In case a participant is already covered by their insurance under better conditions for the chosen activities and is unwilling to be covered by CHARTIS GREECE, they must notify in paper the above to Cretan Adventures one day before the event (excluding weekends or holidays), the latest.
Cretan Adventures is not responsible for any accidents or mishaps directly or indirectly related to the tour.
