Starting from cosmopolitan Elounda, we shall hike around Spinalonga Peninsula. Walking on dirt roads and coastal paths, will pass from abandoned stone farmhouses with their threshing floors, crystal-clear beaches and ancient churches to end up back at Elounda completed a beautiful loop. Passing from Exo Vathi gulf we shall be mesmerized by its azure, blue waters. Soon after Exo Vathi we shall see the Byzantine Chapel of Saint Fokas and at Kolokytha bay we will pass by the ruins of an early Christian basilica.

  •  Spinalonga island – embark in the caique boat from Plaka village to visit the historic island of Spinalonga that was a massive fortress for the Venetians and later became a leper colony.

This walk is suitable for anyone in good health and normal fitness. Involves harder walk just with more walking hours on rocky trails with uphill.
